Service and agreement
OwnTheSpot provides paid website advertising placement. The terms shown at checkout must be accepted before a purchase.
Eligibility and responsible use
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement to purchase placement. Use the website lawfully. Do not attempt unauthorized access, interfere with the service, impersonate another person or manipulate visits or rankings. You must have the rights needed to submit your listing text, images and other content.
Paid advertising and ranking
For new purchases under these Terms, each confirmed payment contributes its purchased bid amount for 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days and 365 days from its payment timestamp to the respective boards, globally and within the listing’s category. Higher eligible totals rank first; qualified outbound visits in the rolling window break ties, followed by the time the tied total was reached. These are rolling durations, not calendar days, weeks, months or years.
Each additional payment has its own expiration. Adding money does not renew older payments. A listing needs at least US$5 in unexpired eligible credit to appear on a board. Rank and top-15 inclusion are not reserved or guaranteed. Expiration removes that payment’s contribution from the applicable board without an automatic new charge. Refunds and disputes can also reduce credit. Hiding, suspension or other ineligibility does not pause expiration.
Purchases accepted under the September 5, 2026 Terms retain their original UTC calendar expiration dates. Their payment history identifies these legacy dates. New payments on the same listing receive the full rolling durations above. Prior Terms remain available at /terms/2026-09-05. Calendar activity archives are historical summaries, not extensions of paid placement or snapshots of the current rolling rankings.
Pricing and checkout
Pricing starts at US$5, in US$5 increments, with a US$1,000 limit per checkout. Only the additional amount selected is charged. OwnTheSpot absorbs ordinary payment-processing fees; the full purchased bid amount is credited. Any applicable tax shown separately at checkout does not increase the bid. Your financial institution may charge currency-conversion or other fees.
Payments are one-time and chosen manually. There are no subscriptions, automatic bids or automatic rebidding. Stripe handles checkout. Creating a listing does not itself charge you; credit is added only after payment confirmation. An unfinished or cancelled checkout does not reserve a position or add credit.
Refunds, cancellations and disputes
Payments are generally non-refundable once they affect a ranking. Contact [email protected] with your order reference to request review of a duplicate or unauthorized charge, technical mistake, incorrect system suspension or rejection before placement. OwnTheSpot may issue a full or partial refund where appropriate. Nothing in these terms limits rights that applicable law does not allow to be waived.
Confirmed prohibited content, fraud, unsafe changes or click manipulation generally do not qualify for a refund. Confirmed refunds and reversals remove the associated bid credit; disputes may temporarily remove credit while reviewed. You may hide a listing, but hiding it does not itself create a refund right. There is no recurring subscription to cancel.
Accounts and listing control
The verified account that submits a listing manages it, including before the first payment. One primary email may manage multiple listings, each with separate totals. Only the manager may add bids. Managing a listing does not prove ownership of the destination website. Paying does not transfer another account’s listing to you.
Categories lock after activation. Managers may correct pending submissions and request changes to an active listing. The existing public version remains in place while changes are screened and reviewed. You may request account closure after signing in again; closure hides listings, ends sessions and stops new purchases. Financial and other records may remain as described in the Privacy Policy.
Content and safety review
Low-risk new listings may proceed automatically after screening. Flagged or uncertain submissions require administrator review before checkout; submitting for review does not charge you. Optional logos remain private until approved. An unapproved logo is replaced by a letter mark.
Listing names and taglines must be in English; destinations may use other languages. Taglines must be 10–100 characters and accurately describe the destination. Adult sexual content, gambling, illegal or controlled products, weapons, hate content, malware, phishing, impersonation, counterfeit goods, deceptive wealth claims and political or election advocacy are prohibited. Standalone social profiles, empty coming-soon pages, spam and misleading listings are not eligible.
OwnTheSpot may reject, hide or suspend listings under these rules. Reports prompt review, not automatic penalties. Reactivation and material changes require screening. Report concerns to [email protected] with the listing URL and a description.
Limits of the service
Every ranked position is advertising. Payment amount does not indicate quality, endorsement, ownership or expected results. OwnTheSpot does not operate destination websites and does not guarantee a rank, duration, impressions, clicks, customers, revenue or other results. Metrics may be corrected for refunds, disputes, fraud or technical errors. Service may be interrupted for maintenance or other operational reasons.
Changes
These terms may be updated as the service develops. The current version and date will be published here. Purchases will record the policy versions accepted at checkout. Changes do not retrospectively remove rights associated with an earlier purchase.
